In this day and age, women can do anything. We’re not satisfied with lounging by the pool. We want to climb mountains, scuba dive, go white water rafting, and immerse ourselves in the unfamiliar. Who you will be traveling with?

While we can’t disclose other travelers’ personal information, we can assure you that you will travel with a group of like-minded women who have adventurous spirits and are ready to challenge themselves.

Can you help me arrange my travel visas?

Travel visa requirements can vary widely. You may find visa information in our pre-departure guide. We expect each adventuress to handle personal visa requirements on her own, except for Bhutan which we will help you arrange the visa. Please contact us if you have any visa-related questions.

What Vaccinations Are Recommended?

Please visit your family physician before your tour to make sure you receive the most accurate and up-to-date travel health information for the region or country you are traveling to.

Is tipping included? If not, how Much Should I Tip?

Tips are at your discretion and not included in the price of the tour. Tipping amount varies based on different regions. Our Pre-departure Guide includes suggested tipping amounts and can be found from each product page.

Is travel insurance required?

Travel insurance is mandatory for all our travelers. Your travel insurance must provide coverage against personal accidents, death, medical expenses and emergency repatriation (including air ambulance and helicopter rescue services) with a recommended minimum coverage of US $200,000 for each of the categories of coverage. We also strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, curtailment, personal liability and loss of luggage and personal effects. You must provide proof of your travel insurance on the first day of your trip; you will not be able to join the trip without it.

Who should fill out the Medical Form?

All travelers MUST complete sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ of the Medical Form. If you have indicated that you have a pre-existing medical condition you are required to complete section ‘C’ also. The more information Travel Her Way has, the more we may assist in the unlikely event of an emergency or provide other medical assistance.

What are the age requirements?

Adventuresses are required to be at least 18 years old if traveling independently . Our tours are open to younger adventuresses aged 15 or older, who must be accompanied by an adult over 21. A parent is required to fill out the “Travel with Minors” form in this case. If the adult is not a parent, he/she is required to fill out a “Parental Consent Guardianship Form” and get it signed by the minor’s parent.

Can I Join a tour late or leave it early?

We do not recommend arriving late, as it would be your responsibility to catch up to the rest of the group, and there would be no cost reduction. If you decide to leave early, we will not be able to refund you the remaining balance and you will be responsible to arrange the rest of your own transportation and accommodations.

Is this a secure site for purchase?

Absolutely! We work with Stripe which guarantees your safety and security. All site communication and data transfer are secured and encrypted.

How Is the Physical Rating System Designed?

The physical rating system is designed based on a variety of factors such as remoteness, time spent above 3,000m (the height above which most people have more difficulty acclimatizing), highest altitude, condition of the trail, altitude gained each day, distance and technical ability. The reason for the grade is so a trekker can select a route that fits his or her ability. Treks are graded from easy to adventurous. We suggest you to choose a grade corresponding to your health, physical fitness and experience trekking in remote areas and at high altitudes. We want you to pick a trek that fits your fitness level so that you can gain the most enjoyment from the experience.

  • Grade 01 (Easy)

Most reasonably active, fit people can trek these routes without prior experience. Easy trekking is generally between 900m to 2500m above sea level. Time spent walking will not exceed 5 to 6 hours a day.

  • Grade 02 (Moderate)

A significant step up from Grade 1, the Moderate trek includes 5 to 7 hours walking each day between the altitudes of 1500m – 3200m. Grade 2 requires an adventuress to have some previous hill walking or moderate walking experience. This grade can still be appropriate for children and the elderly who are physically fit and have hiking experience.

  • Grade 03 (Strenuous)

Strenuous treks require previous easy to moderate trekking experience. People who suffer from high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease or other serious medical conditions should not attempt this trek. Strenuous treks include 5 to 6 hours hiking each day up to an altitude of 4000m. Only physically and mentally fit persons should attempt this level.

  • Grade 04 (Very Strenuous)

Very Strenuous treks require some previous mountain hiking experience. The elevations range from 3500m to 5500m and approximately 5 to 6 hours walking each day. Trekkers must be fully supported by a trekking agency. People interested in Grade 4 must be fit to walk in remote, snow covered passes.

  • Grade 05 (Challenging)

Challenging treks are limited to people in excellent health, who are capable of carrying a backpack, able to cross glaciers and snow, and have mountaineering skills. Furthermore, the Grade 5 trekker must have knowledge and experience walking in remote wilderness. Trekkers must be fully supported by a trekking agency. Elevations will range higher than 5500m and require approximately 5-6 hours walking per day. Challenging treks can also include peak climbing and mountaineering.
